Filament Length/Weight/Volume Estimator for 4d G-Code
thingiverse
This Perl script scans a G-code file to calculate the required filament length. It works with absolute moves, not relative ones. By comparing its result with a weighed print, it achieved a 96% accuracy. To use it, make the script executable and pipe or specify the G-code file on the command line. Optional switches allow specifying filament density and diameter for more precise calculations. Default values are provided if switches are omitted. The output includes cross-sectional area, total filament length, volume, and weight of the filament required.
