Only fair I add a valuable tool after many downloads! Do you waste rolls of filament because you know your prints will take more than what's left on the roll? Well, worry no more! The filament joiner I've created fixes that problem. I used to keep but not use all those rolls with about 1/4 left of filament. Now I have made this handy device as a platform to hold and join the leftovers to create one new roll! Designed for 3mm filament. The filament fits snugly in place. Print it, then secure it. Now get yourself a small hair straightener - the skinny little ones work best! I'm using a VS Sassy Mini Pro, which cost me about $20 AUD. I turn it on, wait for a minute or so, then squeeze it firmly and voila - it's joined! Let it cool before starting to roll it into the main roll. That's it! I hope this helps people save their filament and reduce waste. By the way, I'm an architect and built this tool in Archicad.
