Filament Jam sensor for Smoothieware
thingiverse
I uploaded a new variant of the base frame. The baseframe_n0p3 and baseframe_n0p6 have slightly different offsets between the friction wheel and the filament guide. The n0p3 is slightly looser and has less friction, while the n0p6 is slightly tighter and has more friction. I've discovered that the n0p3 might slip somewhat depending on your printer and your filament. This filament runout/jam sensor is designed to work with a printer controller using Smoothieware. Instructions for setting it up are at: [filament-detector](http://smoothieware.org/filament-detector). It uses an HC-020K optical sensor, which is commonly used in RC cars. Here's what you'll need: 1 M5 x 16mm bolt 2 M5 nuts 1 625zz bearing (16 x 5 x 5mm) 1 M3 x 10mm bolt 1 HC-020K optical sensor printed parts Instructions for assembly are included in the download.
