This is my brand new filament sensor. I removed it and replaced it with a straight pin header at the bottom. The hole on the left side is for the LED on the sensor board. Push in a short piece of translucent filament as far as it will go. It acts like a fiber optic strand and lets you see the LED when the top is on. Only the bottom, where the screws are recessed, may need supports. All other parts were designed not to require any added supports.
