filament jam monitor
pinshape
I designed this filament monitor to alert you when the filament gets tangled and jams the extruder, preventing wasted prints. Avoid throwing away a lot of prints! Based on Arduino and a simple mechanical encoder, it emits a beep when the filament stops moving for more than three seconds on the wheel that feeds the filament. Place springs between the base and the push rod to keep the filament in constant contact with the encoder wheel's gear. A 606 bearing is required to secure the top part of the encoder shaft to the main body. You can add an elastic or other grip aid to the wheel seat for better hold. Work in progress - all comments and modifications are welcome. Print Settings: Brand: RepRap, Model: Prusa i3, Rafts: No, Supports: Not Applicable, Resolution: 200 micron, Infill: 30%
