I recently bought some Stylox Dry-Store Multi boxes from Amazon, and I love them. They seal up tighter than a Yorkshireman's wallet, and have silica gel containers to keep them dry inside. You can also see clearly what colour filaments you have, and how much is left on the spool. The only thing missing is a way to identify what material the filament is without opening up and checking the side of the spool. I have white ABS, white PETG, and good ol' white PLA. Put them side by side and you'll struggle to tell them apart without seeing the labelI didn't want to hack my boxes around in any way. So I just knocked up these holders and flags. They clip straight into the slots in the desiccant holder, and you just print and clip in the relevant material tags. The plain tag will take ordinary TZE labelling tape. Or, if you want to go more basic than that, you can write on it with a sharpie. But I also created some pre-labelled tags for the more common filaments. If you only have a single colour machine, you can print them until the last two layers, then swap the filament reel for a different colour on the last two layers for a nice sharp contrast. Or you can colour the letters in using a paint-based craft pen. Or, if you have a multi-colour printer... well, you don't need me to explain that do ya?!!I also created a holder that glues to the light bar I made for the top of my Bambu X1-C - although I'll publish that as a separate design at some point, probably as an addendum to the light bar's design page. Finally I've attached my SketchUp files for the tinkerers who might wish to use my tags elsewhere. So all that remains for me to say is, "Tag, you're 'it'".Happy printing!Print SettingsPrinter Brand:BambulabsPrinter: Bambu X1CRafts:NoSupports: Doesn't MatterFilament: Generic Any Any Notes: Provided you have good bed adhesion, and your first layer is set up properly, you should be able to print the holder exactly as the stl is oriented.I used a brim around the print because of the small contact area of the first layer.I also added some manual support material to the ends of the legs (although they shouldn't need it because of the angles) Category: 3D Printer Accessories
