Filament Holder Ender 3
thingiverse
I've been dealing with intermittent under-extrusion on my Ender 3. I noticed that the filament spool was not unwinding smoothly at all. After switching to a ball-bearing system on the table top, those issues disappeared completely. However, I still prefer the filament to be situated on top of the printer. So here's my take on a filament holder for the Ender 3. Some additional non-3D printed components are required, particularly four 608zz bearings and two axles. I used eight-millimeter aluminum tubing, but five-sixteenth dowel should work just as well. I also have the source files available on GitHub. I printed the frame, rollers, and washers independently. The following settings were used: - Print the frame with supports - Print the washers with a brim - Print the roller halves without support The required quantities are: - Frame (Frame.stl): 1 - Roller A (Roller A.stl): 2 - Roller B (Roller B.stl): 2 - Washer (Washer.stl): 4 Additional components (not 3D printed): - Bearings 608zz: 4 - Axles eight-millimeter diameter: 2
