On large prints, the head violently yanks on the spool as it makes travel moves. This can't be good for print quality. To resolve this issue, I positioned the filament from the spool to the print head inside a Teflon tube so that the distance between them remains constant. This modification requires only three easy-to-print parts and about 70 cm of 2 mm ID / 4 mm OD Teflon tube (about 5 euros with delivery from eBay). The filament clip can be moved along the frame. I positioned it to minimize strain on the print head, exerting almost no force this way. With this modification, the spool turns slowly and gently, without sudden jerks.
