Update 2017-12-12 - There is a new version that resolves issues that were discovered after extended use: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2710135. This version will remain available but I recommend that you use the latest version if you have a CoreXY, H-Bot or similar design with a direct drive extruder. This is a filament guide that snaps securely on to popular aluminum extrusions used by a variety of 3D printers. Parts for 2020, 2040 and 3030 extrusions have been included. I deliberately avoided adding notches to fit into the extrusion channels to avoid compatibility issues between v-slot and t-slot. This design also won't interfere with belts or cables in the channels. I designed these parts with tight tolerances; 0.1mm on the extrusion dimensions for a tight snap fit and minimal wobble. If it's too tight, try printing in Slic3r Prusa Edition (Free) which seems to produce the most dimensionally accurate prints in my experience. If it's too loose, try printing it in Cura (Free) which seems to produce slightly larger perimeters. It was designed in OnShape so anyone can modify/remix the parts or export them to another format from here: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/342c55b50a35e3e9b3ff6e21/w/0085c572b42c80534a577da4/e/a8bbeadeb5dae13e1cd701dc The snap on spool holders shown in the pictures are available here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2537713 If anyone wants a version for a different sized extrusion, just let me know in the comments. Please share your makes!
