Filament Guide (Ender 3V2)
thingiverse
A simple filament guide that uses a small section of PTFE tubing to guide filament around the z-axis leadscrew. The filament reel can be mounted from the top of the machine, as typical, or fed from the side. The PTFE tubing can be cut to any preferred length, but I found just a few inches was enough for it to flex for the filament path from above. The eBox tubing (eSun) fits nicely overtop of the Capricorn tubing (recent add) and has been working great. Installation: •Suggest raising the z axis to near the top and securing the carriage (I used zip ties to the top beam). Makes it easier to work with •Remove the 2 screws and 4 washers for the z axis nut. Careful, there's washers top and bottom of the assembly! The bottom ones can be left in place, but just be aware they are there and they don't fall out on you. •Slide this down the z-axis leadscrew from the top. I didn't make a cut away to install from the side. •Install the screws and washers sandwiching the part to the carriage bracket •Cut and install a few inches of capricorn tubing until it bottoms out on the part •(optional) install the zip tie to better secure the tubing to the guide. I found this nice but I had to crank on the zip tie to make it hold. I had filament inside when installing so it wouldn't crush the tubing. My second time, I included the cable bundle going to the print head, but you just have to make sure the carriage is at the furthest end before anchoring. Leave a bit of slack, even so. Having the z-axis near the top nicely keeps the leadscrew straight with the motor. Tightening the screws holding the z-axis nut can be critical to the leadscrew alignment. Sorry for the blurry picture and stringing! This was an early print for me and I learned many things since! Funny thing: after I designed this up, test printed, tweaked and printed final, I found similar ones already out there. Happy if you use this, but please look around and find what you really like!
