Filament Guide
thingiverse
I decided to create my own guide for the Printrbot Simple Metal Z Axis, after trying out a few other designs that didn't quite fit perfectly. This custom-made guide is specifically tailored to fit snugly onto the post with an internal hole size that's precisely measured plus a 0.4mm nozzle width, which I knew was crucial for getting an accurate print. By making it from scratch, I could also test whether my own internal dimensions were printing correctly. I made sure to leave the top clip open so that changing filament is quick and easy, without having to thread the opening through the guide itself. If you decide to make this yourself, let me know - it's my first foray into modeling and printing custom parts! Instructions: To create your own Printrbot Z Axis guide from scratch, start by using PLA with a thickness of 0.2mm and 15% infill for best results. Fortunately, no support structure is required as the clip angles in at 45 degrees, which provides more than enough stability for this simple but effective part to come out perfectly every time!
