Filament Guide Bar - no Restrictions
thingiverse
I aimed to create a "guide" for the filament on my Anet A6 3D printer that eliminates any restrictions on the filament to minimize feeding issues. I deliberately chose not to use an "eyelet" type of guide, as it necessitates the spool to be placed in a specific location behind the printer, which wasn't part of my plans at that time. To achieve this goal, I designed a pair of brackets that attach to the top of the Anet A6 frame using existing M3 screws. I then ran a piece of aluminum (3/8" / 9.5mm) across the top of the frame, which allows the filament spool to be placed anywhere and grants complete freedom to the filament as the printer moves along the X axis. For those who need to modify the size of the hole for a different sized rod, I've included the 123D file. If you're interested in a variant that also incorporates a Micro SD card reader, check out my remix at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1802502
