Filament Grommet
thingiverse
My dry box sits on a shelf directly beneath my printer's enclosure. To access the filament, it must pass through this shelf, making it easily accessible to the printer. Since my dry box can hold multiple spools, I need to design a system that allows me to reach all of them from within the enclosure for hassle-free filament changes. Therefore, this grommet has multiple ports to accommodate each bowden tube fed out of the box. I also want to be able to remove the dry box while keeping all the bowden tubes attached, so the grommet is actually a two-piece design. The outer piece passes through the shelf and is secured by one set of clips. The inner piece fits snugly into the outer and is held in place with its own clips, allowing it to be easily removed when the box needs to be accessed. While my design allows the filament to pass through a shelf below the printer, it could also be inverted to feed filament from above.
