Filament filter and alignment (Fabrikator)
thingiverse
I wanted to install a filament filter on my printer, the Fabrikator. I'm confident it would work with any printer featuring a rod type filament holder. While printing large objects, I noticed excessive slack between the spool and extruder. To solve this issue, I came up with an answer: filtering the filament keeps even tension on the filament throughout. The loose tolerances allow the arm to move to its required position on the rod. Required Materials: 2x Arms 1x Filter/Centre Piece 2x 3mm or 4-40 Screws Foam for Filter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llEN2W8QzEs Print Settings: Printer: Fabrikator Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 30% Notes: The arms definitely require supports, at least they did for me.
