Filament fan duct (Re-D-Bot, for E3D V6 and Volcano)
thingiverse
Hello my friends! After a few months, I realized the need to try another fan system, so I decided to upgrade from the 4010 model. I purchased radial fans and designed a new fan holder. What can I say... It's AWESOME! Super airflow and no hotend cooling issues. If you're using an x-carriage for Re-D-Bot, and you want to use the new fan holder with the volcano, I recommend increasing holes (you can find the image below) or using the updated version (Carriage_base_back.STL is available there). These fans are pretty powerful, and most of my printing is done at 40-50% fan power. If you want to reduce noise from the fans, in Marlin you can turn on software PWM for fans. You need to uncomment this in Configuration.h: #define FAN_SOFT_PWM Video of print test: https://youtu.be/MXtuoXqMKMM P's: In files I published "Fan_duct_filament_V2_nozzle_x2.STL" sources, so you can design your nozzles with your own forms and sizes. I used these fans. They are pretty good; I recommend them (http://ali.pub/stfgx) Print Settings: Printer: Re-D-Bot Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 30% Notes: Supports are not required, but they can help get better quality (;) About Assembly For assembly, you will need to print the main fan holder (Fan_duct_filament_V2.STL) and two nozzles (Fan_duct_filament_V2_nozzle_x2.STL). All screws (4), nuts (4), and washers (6) are M3 size. Two fans like this. Sorry, I forgot to put the nozzles in the photo >_< How I printed Supports are not necessary, but they helped get better quality. I like the quality :P Preparing screws with nuts Mount the fans Well done! Now, connect the nozzles and you're done. In Finally, just unscrew the old fan and replace it with this. Update Carriage_base_back.STL of Re-D-Bot x-carriage for Volcano (just recommended, not required). You can increase holes of your current printed element, but be careful.
