Filament fan duct (Re-D-Bot, for E3D V6 and Volcano)
pinshape
Hello my friends! After a few months, I realized the need to try another fan setup, instead of using the 4010 model. So I purchased radial fans and designed a new fan holder. What can I say... It's absolutely fantastic! Super airflow and no cooling issues with the hotend. If you're using an x-carriage for Re-D-Bot and want to use the new fan holder with Volcano, I recommend increasing the holes (you can find an image below) or using the updated version (Carriage_base_back.STL available there). These fans are pretty powerful, and most of my printing is done at 40-50% fan power. If you want to reduce noise from the fans, in Marlin you can turn on software PWM for fans by uncommenting this line in Configuration.h: #define FAN_SOFT_PWM. Video of print test: https://youtu.be/MXtuoXqMKMM P.S.: In files I published "Fan_duct_filament_V2_nozzle_x2.STL" sources, so you can design your nozzles with your own forms and sizes. I used these fans and they are pretty good; I highly recommend them (http://ali.pub/stfgx). Print Settings: Printer: Re-D-Bot Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 30% Notes: Supports are not required, but can help get better quality. About Assembly To assemble the new fan holder, you will need to print the main fan holder (Fan_duct_filament_V2.STL) and two nozzles (Fan_duct_filament_V2_nozzle_x2.STL). All screws (4), nuts (4), and washers (6) have M3 size. You'll also need two fans like these. Sorry, I forgot to include the nozzles in the photo. Preparing Screws with Nuts Mounting the Fans Well done! Now, connect the nozzles and you're all set. In Finally, just unscrew the old fan and replace it with this one. Update Carriage_base_back.STL of Re-D-Bot x-carriage for Volcano (just recommended, not required). You can also increase the holes of your current printed element, but be careful.
