Filament Drying Spool with Drill Winding Adapter
thingiverse
Easy Wind Drill Spool - Compact profile allows compatibility with toaster ovens despite weight of 1 kg spools - Embossed tags on the material and a recessed area enable easy labeling with brand or drying parameters - Four widely spaced sets of holes secure brittle filament, minimizing breakage risk and preventing excessive length from sticking out in the oven - Designed to print well with large layer heights and extrusion widths, as well as most wet filament - Uses significantly less material and prints faster than most spools on this site when using recommended settings Unblended polycarbonate is highly recommended due to its relatively low cost, exceptional heat resistance, and ability to hold threads well. I have successfully tested it at over 140 °C in a PID-controlled convection oven without warping, but suggest not exceeding 125 °C with less accurate temperature regulation. Printing this spool in PC may be possible without a heated or insulated enclosure due to the large surface area in contact with the bed and relatively small portion extending into the air, although I have not tested it. You can also probably scale the model in X and Y as long as you drill out the screw holes. Requires M3 and M5 taps plus 3x M3 and 3x M5 screws to assemble. The uploaded images are from an earlier version with filament securing holes spaced closer together and no material tag or recessed area for labeling, but the pictures are otherwise identical to the models here.
