Filament dryer
thingiverse
I transformed my food dehydrator into a filament dryer using this exact model: https://www.bol.com/nl/p/voedseldroger-elektronische-droogautomaat-4-lades/9200000100458325/?s2a= from Neu Haus. I discovered the same product here http://www.premiumxl.de/de_/neu-haus-doerrgeraet-obst-und-gemuese-trockner-mit-4-etagen-doerrautomat-food-dryer-rund.html, which is a lot cheaper. I employed a bearing to create a rotating base that reduces stress on the extruder gear. I documented my process in a YouTube video where I demonstrate how to prepare this dryer. It's still experimental, but it works perfectly! Please note that the temperature inside the dryer can reach 70°C, so PLA and PETG are not suitable for use with this setup. I used ABS for this project and Nylon for another, both of which performed well.
