Filament Dryer / Dehydrator
thingiverse
I made an adapter to use the top cover of a plastic cake carrier commonly available in Canadian and US stores. The original Thing uses EU containers which are hard to find on this side of the ocean. The top cover I used is the Wilton Cake Caddy, available at Walmart, Michaels, etc., and it's also sold online. I bought mine at my local Canadian Tire, along with the Salton VitaPro food dehydrator, which is the same as the original and the PrintDry. There is enough room for two full-size spools in the Wilton Cake Caddy. I didn't try using the dryer as a filament source, but you might be able to use the same parts as the original. Just print six of these adapters, slide them over the existing tabs on the trays, and the top of the cake caddy will fit perfectly without any air gaps. Use the center piece from the original Thing design.
