For other Prusa MMU stuff: https://www.thingiverse.com/AbeFM/collections/abes-mmu2-stuff

Handle for filament box. Works with Sterilite 1932 20 qt airtight box. Available at Target for ~$8, Amazon ASIN B00H1PS2TS

You will need a little under 40 cm of 1-1/2" Schedule 40 PVC pipe. I got 10 feet and cut it to lengths. I used the handle as a guide to get the angle. These are fairly thin so while it's not hard you should use some care to make things go as smoothly as possible.

With this you can lower/raise the entire spool of 4-6 spools at once. There's ample room down below for loose desiccant. Make sure the spools don't have stuff sticking out of the sides, they can cause drag on each other, but as long as you're aware it shouldn't be a problem.

Just a thin layer will keep the humidity off the bottom of the charts for 6+ months.

Use with: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3223256

Update 1/2020: Having used these for a long time, I've had a number of these (made out of PLA) get very brittle and break. I'm wondering if it's from being in with the desiccant. Has anyone else seen this?

Print Settings

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

any

Infill:

15-20%

Filament: any Rigid any

Notes:

There's a hole in the bottom to help get the cuts aligned (I use the text on the pipe and align both to that). Also you can put a screw into the pipe through it if you're concerned about the handles falling off. Mine don't.

Category: 3D Printer Accessories
