Filament Dry Box Floor Standoff
thingiverse
I bought some watertight plastic boxes from Container Store to keep filament spools completely dry when not in use. To prevent moisture buildup inside each box, I added about 4mm of desiccant beads at the bottom. Unfortunately, when extracting a spool, several desiccant beads would often stick to it and fall off around the room. To address this issue, I designed a standoff for the bottom of the box with ventilation holes to enable the desiccant to share airflow with the filament. The original box measures 298mm x 215mm, but printing it on my Ender 3 proved challenging due to its size. To overcome this limitation, I created two separate halves: each measuring 146mm x 203mm. This design allows for a small gap between the edges of the box and enables users to easily resize the length and width to fit most standard dry boxes.
