I thought the designs I had seen for dry boxes could use some improvement for one reason or another. So, for this project I made new files with some improvements and put all the files you need for a complete a dry box in one place.

Printed parts:

Filaments pass-through guide (3 parts)

Passthrough_Guide_Outer_v2 (threaded for a push in quick connects for 6mm Bowden tubes)

Passthrough_Guide_Inner

Passthrough_Guide_Outer_45d

Passthrough_Guide_Inner_45d

Passthrough_Cap_v2 (threaded to outer guide, will cover quick connect)

Spool holders (with press fit points for 608 ball bearings)

Spool_Holder_Threaded_End_XX (three lengths 35, 55, and 75mm)

Spool_Holder_Pocket_End

Large_Spool_Holder_TE_45 (threaded lengths 45mm)

Large_Spool_Holder_PE

Spool axle supports

Axle_Support_Inner_N_Degrees (six versions to compensate for tub draft angle)

Axle_Support_Outer_N_Degrees (six versions to compensate for tub draft angle)

Links for some of the purchased hardware are below. Other purchased hardware can be for at most hardware stores.

Purchased hardware you will need:

A plastic storage tub big enough to hold your spools

8mm diameter rod

608 ball bearings

M4x0.7 machine screws, 16mm long

M4x0.7 hex nuts

Optional purchased hardware:

1/8” PT male threaded 6mm push joint

6mm diameter PTFE Bowden tube

Silica gel desiccant

Silicone sealant

Rubber weather seal striping (if storage tub doesn’t come with it)

M4 washers

Notes:

Before printing figure out the draft angle of your storage tub, and select the axle supports to match.

Passthrough_Guide_Outer_45d will require supports

Assembly

Find a good height for the axle supports in your storage tub, make sure its low enough so the lid can be closed when a spool is on the holder. Use the support as a guide to mark the locations for the bolt holes, do that for both sides. After drilling holes, the axle supports can be attached, each one needs four M4x0.7 machine screws and four M4x0.7 hex nuts. Optionally you can use four M4 washers and silicone sealant to make the mounting air tight. Once both Axle supports are installed measure the distance between them and then cut the 8mm axle rod to length, if the walls of your storage tub are flexible make the rod a little longer (3-5mm).

For each Spool holder press fit a 608-ball bearing into the recessed pocket.

Each pass-through guide requires four M4x0.7 machine screws, four M4x0.7 hex nuts, and optionally four M4 washers and silicone sealant to make it air tight. Use the outer guide to mark the hole locations and then drill the holes (I put the pass-through guides on the lid of my dry box, but the side of the tub will also work). After the inner and outer pass-through guides are attached, screw in the push joints if your going to use them. The pass-through caps can cover any pass-through not currently being used and there large enough to cover the push fittings.
