A recent update revealed that an earlier attempt failed to resolve the issue; however, running the steppers at 24V did the trick. This not only improved the sound but also ensured they ran at their specified current and reduced voltage fluctuations. The filament drive wheel slipping had been a persistent problem, particularly during long prints leading to stripped gears and frustration. Jag's design offered less slippage due to its uncovered structure, allowing airflow across the drive components. To further reduce slippage, a small fan was mounted on a custom 3D-printed bracket, attached to the acrylic using M3x20 bolts. The fan can be wired in parallel with the extruder stepper fan. Additionally, there's a scad file for a mount compatible with common 90mm computer case fans.
