Filament Dehydrator Tray Extensions
thingiverse
Extensions for a small Westinghouse food dehydrator make it possible to utilize the dehydrator for drying filament or annealing PLA. Instead of using the trays that come with the dehydrator, you can print these extensions if you break inside plastic. The smaller 40mm extension only works on thinner spools, like newer Taulman nylon spools or 1lb Ninjaflex spools. In contrast, the larger 100mm extension should work with any spool up to 1kg that I have encountered. You can stack multiple extensions if you want to dry more than one spool at a time. I usually use the lowest settings to dry filament because higher temperatures will warp PLA. Printed in natural Taulman PLAdium, something more heat-resistant should be used if you plan to turn up the temperature all the way. The overhang is angled so it can be printed without support material.
