Filament Colorizer - Marker Holder For 3mm filament
thingiverse
This design was inspired by Thing 5570 on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5570). The original creator used it extensively, particularly with ABS filament. It holds two standard Sharpie markers and fits most printers' roof holes. However, it may require adjustments for the Tevo Mini Oddy. The holder works best with "fine" Sharpies. The maker suggests natural ABS or ABS colored with two black Sharpies for a dark gray result. Long prints may see color fading as markers run out. This design has been used to create various colorful 3D printed items, such as turtles (e.g., Thingiverse's Turtle #4178). A unique feature is the solvent in Sharpies that allows ink to soak into ABS filament. The maker notes that this can cause clean cuts when markers are in contact with stationary filament, but colored parts seem as strong as natural ones. To use the holder, place filament through the center channel, insert one or two markers, slide rig for colorization, and feed stock into the hotend. Enjoy adding a splash of color to your 3D prints!
