This model consists of a printed component and raw filament, which has been wrapped around a 3D-printed mold to achieve the desired shape. I fabricated these using 0.2 mm layers and estimate it was approximately 80% infill. The parts are relatively small, but they possess a substantial weight due to their density. Bending the filament proved to be quite challenging when dealing with such tiny corner radii. To overcome this issue, I applied gentle heat to the center section of a short piece of filament (~15 cm) using a lighter, without manipulating or compressing the material. The curved portion was tackled first, followed by heating the sections destined for straight segments before gently pressing them into place. To ensure uniformity, I trimmed the filament ends flush with the guide's end. The color sample guide is designed to be integrated into the "ring" that holds all samples, as this will likely become a recurring necessity when acquiring additional colors. In contrast, the mold for bending the center ring will only be required once.
