Filament Clip with holder ring
thingiverse
It doesn't take many sleepless nights wrestling with a tangled spool of filament to learn the lesson - always secure your filament! Unfortunately, I'm the type who misplaces things the moment I set them down anywhere, so I needed a filament clip that I could easily keep track of. This design was inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3268797 - however, I found the original clip's design fell off the filament too easily and was far too easy for me to lose, so I created my own version. I narrowed the gap at the top of each channel so that the filament snaps in securely and doesn't easily fall out, and added a ring to one side. This makes the clip larger, making it easier to handle for clumsy individuals like myself, and allows it to be clipped to the edge of a spool or onto the included hanger ring. There are two versions of the hanger ring - one designed to hold a 12mm x 3mm magnet, and one with a simple hole for hanging. Choose your preference! I now keep one of these rings next to my printers at all times with a dozen or so clips, ensuring I never have to worry about losing them again.
