Filament Clip V8
thingiverse
Yes indeedio. Yet another filament clip, a necessary evil. I've spent countless hours searching, testing, and tweaking until I finally found one that works. My "V8" design is the culmination of eight iterations, each one improved upon until it met my standards. It's simple yet effective, designed for 1.75 mm filaments. Place the filament in the straight slot, wind the end around the spool, and secure it with the curved slot on the clip. PETG might be a bit slippery, but I've managed to get it working. Matte type PLA seems to perform best, while ABS and other materials remain untested. Zero infill is unnecessary; use more precise resolution if desired. The design has proven reliable even at 0.3 mm draft on my Prusa. Some designs I tested were too loose, so I tightened the bottom of the groove to 1.70 mm. It's now just right for me.
