I discovered numerous designs for filament clips that securely fasten the clip to the Spool reel itself. However, due to my diverse collection of spools from various manufacturers, I wondered if it's feasible to create a clip that doesn't rely on the Spool but instead uses the filament itself as the anchor point. Thus, this design attaches filament to filament - solely to keep the filament in position. Dependent upon your 3D printer model, you may need to adjust the clip's dimensions by scaling it up or down to perfectly accommodate your specific type of filament. As designed, this current filament size supports 1.75mm filament printing on a Printrbot Simple Metal.
