After dealing with a massive knot in my spool, I had to find a clip to keep the filament under constant tension while storing it. I couldn't locate any clips designed specifically for generic PLA spools with 1.5mm wall thickness. So, I decided to create one myself. When printing this design, be aware that shrinkage can affect its accuracy. You may need to print it at a 101% scale or widen the hole slightly using a metal string before inserting the filament. Alternatively, you can drill it open to ensure a smooth fit.
