Filament Clip

Filament Clip

Not having found a filament clip (very practical to attach the filament of a started spool) that suited me, and having searched in vain to create a universal one, I had fun designing a whole series of clips that should be able to satisfy the greatest number of us. The disadvantage of the multitude of clips is that we never have the right one at hand! The advantage I found there, as soon as I open a new spool, the first piece I print is the clip adapted to the spool with the color of this filament. This makes it easier to clearly see the color of the filament, and each spool has its own custom clip. How to choose the right clip among all those proposed? The name of the STL in the form: Clip_XXX_DD_E-E is decrypted as follows XXX: which is either Std (for standard) or EP (for thick), allows you to choose between 2 variants of coil end core. DDD : corresponds to the diameter of the coil. We have to admit that this is more of a designer's delusion than of real use, considering the sector used by such small clips. E-E : corresponds to the thickness of the core of the coil, with for example 1-5, corresponding to 1,5 mm. I recommend to be about 0.5 mm below the actual core thickness of the coil, so that the clip is well pinched. Finally, if you really don't know which one to choose, start with this one, it is a good base to start with: Clip_Ep_200_1-5. I print these clips in quick mode. Good Prints...
