A compact all-in-one solution combines a PTFE cap, filament cap, filament clip, and NFC tag holder in perfect harmony. To maintain a tight seal on my filament, I employ caps that securely hold both the PTFE tube and the coiled filament extracted from IKEA Sammla boxes. For a comprehensive overview of my filament supply, I utilize RollingUp, another software developed by the same author. This innovative tool enables the use of an NFC chip to retrieve vital information about filament rolls. It will meticulously record what I've printed with which filament and calculate the remaining filament on each roll. As I also required filament clips, I seamlessly integrated this feature into my design. Now, I can securely clip my rolls, even when they're removed from the dry-box. The NFC chip allows me to simply place my phone close to the filament, instantly displaying all relevant printing parameters and available filament quantity. These affordable chips cost only a few dollars for ten units. To further enhance my experience, I printed caps in various colors matching my filament collection, enabling me to enclose an NFC chip within each cap. With this setup, all information is readily accessible without the need for button presses – just keep your phone close and read the info at your convenience. Printoid effortlessly communicates the remaining filament quantity to RollingUp, making inventory management a breeze. The NFC chips attached to my rolls have streamlined administration, making it even more enjoyable!
