Filament cap
thingiverse
Is that really a thing ? Well, I find it handy so why not... When I store my regular spools (the ones that don't need to be stored for a long period of time in a vacuum bag or so), I find it indeed quicker to identify the filament's end with this cap rather than having to find a hole in the spool structure, force the filament in & out and wear it. What about preventing the filament from unraveling ? Well so far, so good, so why not... What about filament clips ? Those caps are generic so you don't need to identify the spool maker and have a battery of different clips. When you unload a filament, you put the cap of its replacement and that's it.
