Filament Bushing
thingiverse
For my 3D Printer table, I utilized Creform, a versatile tool commonly employed for tables and shelves in manufacturing settings. This innovative solution is essentially an advanced version of an adult Erector Set, allowing users to create custom designs with ease. With multiple uses, I find it extremely useful and rely on it frequently. If you're interested in learning more about Creform or purchasing their products, visit their official website at http://www.creform.com/. To access their DIY store, register for an account at http://diy.creform.com/Default.aspx. The standard diameter of the tubing used is 28mm, so I designed a bushing to enhance filament roll performance on the Creform. The bushing features internal and external threading, ensuring the filament remains securely attached. This custom-fit solution accommodates most standard 1kg rolls of filament. To optimize your 3D Printer setup, print one custom bushing for each roll of filament on the Creform spool holder. In my case, a simple tube running along the side of the machine serves this purpose. Update: I've added new images to showcase the finished product. The design is no longer a work in progress, and I've made no further modifications to the files. The bushing functions flawlessly, thanks to its carefully crafted 28mm pipe diameter. To achieve optimal results, ensure the walls of the internal threading don't become too thin. The F3D file for this project is available on my website, allowing you to edit and customize the design as needed.
