I designed both an eyeball and a T-Slot friendly version, so I thought I'd show you how it works in this video: https://youtu.be/xJj6qhpamfQ These are 12mm plastic eyeballs from China, available on eBay at http://www.ebay.com/itm/331714307888?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT. Version 4 works great with both 3mm and 1.75 filament and can easily attach to a T-slot printer like my Taz 5, as shown in the video. I uploaded a newer version (V3) with a different cutting angle and better tolerance. An assembly video is posted here: https://youtu.be/vVraKnREFd0 At last, a safe, easy all-in-one filament trimmer that looks cute. I glued on an eyeball, but feel free to paint or detail as you like. It employs a common No. 11 hobby blade and can be mounted anywhere with silicone or my favorite - double-sided 3M tape (the grey stuff). It cuts 1.75 easily and 3mm fairly well. I will build a beefier version for 3mm if requested. This is part 3 of my thing-a-day campaign. Follow me for updates and fun new stuff. So far this week, I've shared the following designs: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1907813 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1913561 Printer Settings: Brand: Robo 3D Model: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 50% Notes: Use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the base hinge and wiggle until loose. The head key slides in to lock the hobby blade in place.
