Updated 10/3/2019: Added a new version with an elevated print platform and a cutout for faster printing and reduced plastic usage. Finished building my dry spool filament box based on the design found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3065301. Used a larger storage box that holds five spools from Amazon, available at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C882DVV. A humidity meter was also included to track moisture levels in the air, purchased from Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GNMKYCZ. Silica gel was added for drying purposes, sourced from Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N98ZR69. Just enough silica gel was poured to cover the bottom of the box, making it simple to recharge in an oven. The box remained up for several months without issue, and despite humidity levels never exceeding 19%, the silica gel has yet to become saturated. A basic top rail guide/holder design was created, along with rod support pieces that fit snugly into place. Additionally, roller grooves were attached, which can be printed in TPU for stabilizing compatible spools.
