Filament box pass through to PFTE tube
thingiverse
I recently upgraded my Prusa i3 MK3 with the MMU2 and MK3s module, and it prompted me to find a convenient storage solution for all the filament spools. So, I acquired two 20L storage boxes and drilled holes in them to allow the filament to pass through. However, I soon discovered that the filament often gets caught on the edge of the hole and the PTFE tube tends to be loose and flimsy. To resolve this issue, I designed these pass-through guides that make it effortless to load filament into the box without any snagging or jamming. The PTFE tubes fit snugly into the guides, ensuring a smooth passage for the filament. It's now easy to load filament into the tubes/guides from within the storage boxes. Furthermore, you can place silica gel bags inside the boxes to maintain a dry environment for your filament. The storage box I purchased fits the spool holder trays that come with the MMU2 and MK3s upgrade perfectly, making it an ideal solution for anyone seeking a similar setup.
