Filament Bearing Sleeve - Standalone -or- Companion to YAFSH
thingiverse
I designed this as a companion to my YAFSH (Yet Another Filament Spool Holder), but it also works well as a standalone for your own filament holder. It was specifically made for MakerGeeks reels, but it will fit any spool that is 67mm thick with a 57mm inner diameter opening. There are two versions available. The original version uses the bearingSleeve-center and two of the bearingSleeve-endcap_x2 models. You can adjust the outer diameter of the center piece to fit your reel if necessary. The second version only uses two of the bearingSleeve-standalone_x2 models, which means you'll need to resize the inner circle if your reel is a different size. In my opinion, the draw of the first version is that it has inner support for the reel and a central object against which you can snug the nut without deforming the reel. It's also simpler to resize the first version for various reels than the second one. The choice between these two versions is up to you. In addition to printing the pieces, you'll need the following hardware: * 12mm-1.75 x 140mm bolt * 12mm-1.75 nut * 12mm x 26mm washer (2) * Toro 110513 bearing (2) - other cross-reference numbers can be found here I chose these components because they were readily available in my shop this weekend as a mechanic. The bearings are 0.75" inside diameter, 1.38" outside diameter, and 0.495" height. However, the perfect fit for this project was made possible by two non-standard features: 1) there's a small (1mm) lip on one side and 2) there's a small (2mm) lip on the outer edge. Standard bearings without these lips will not work with this design.
