Filament alarm/sensor

Filament alarm/sensor

cults3d

This project started as a simple fix for my printer but has proven to be incredibly useful so far. It consists of a printed base with essential components, including a battery, buzzer, switch, and some PTFE tubing. The filament will run through the short PTFE tube while holding the switch open, breaking the circuit that powers the buzzer. Once the filament runs out or passes through completely, the circuit closes and the buzzer sounds off immediately. This instant notification lets you know it's time to switch to a new spool of filament. While more advanced versions could integrate with your printer controller, this simple add-on works seamlessly on any printer without requiring any hacking. Simply place it between the spool and extruder for effortless operation. Hardware needed includes: * A 9V battery * Micro-switch * Some wire * PTFE tubing * 2 M3 screws to secure the switch Check out my other projects at: Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/c/MrCrankyfaceProjects Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mr.crankyface/ 3d Hubs: https://www.3dhubs.com/malmo/hubs/mrcrankyface Patreon: http://patreon.com/Mrcrankyface
