==============================================!! Work In Progress !! - not tested with 3d printer. tjb1 wrote in comment: "You may have an issue with the filament wearing a groove into the button over time causing inconsistent readings." That's a valid concern. I believe I need to redesign the enclosure to utilize a microswitch with a simple metal tab or roller tab. =============================================== This enclosure is specifically designed for use with a microswitch. It provides a clear path for 1,75mm filament to pass through. The microswitch activates when no filament is present inside. I have included both STL and FreeCAD source files for editing purposes. The picture shown depicts an earlier version of the design, which bears little difference from the newer files provided.
