Fikellouri-type vessel 3D printable Adaptation Parts: Body and Lid Historical Background: Elegant compass (or pitcher) with a cover, typical of the Fikellouri type vases, so named because they were first found in archaic cemeteries at the site of Fikelloura, near Kamiros in Rhodes. However, clay analyses and excavation finds place their place of origin in Miletus. The compass has a conical body, small cylindrical handles, a short neck and a low conical cover. Both its shape and its handles imitate patterns of metalwork. Its entire light-colored surface is covered with a written decoration of brown color in zones. The main shoulder belt is adorned by partridges, the favorite theme of Fikellouri-type vessels. They are all rendered in the same way, moving to the right, with the exception of the central one, which turns backwards, making the scene more vivid. The neck adorns a tentacle, the belly two belts with crescent moons and the zone of the base lotus flowers. On the cover of the vase there is tongued jewelry and smaller bands with geometric patterns. Dating: Archaic period, 550 - 530 BC Location: Kremasti, Rhodes Usage: Aromatic
