The figure of Virgin Mary is a captivating work from North Germany, circa 1425. This stunning piece is housed at the Oppesundby Church in Sjaeland, now preserved at the National Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark. Crafted with precision using Memento Beta techniques. Careful examination reveals that the back of the statue has been hollowed out with an axe to prevent cracking in the wood over time. A thorough cleaning of the paint on the front has been undertaken, but the original colors still retain a significant amount of their vibrancy. Mary and her child were both painted with rich flesh tones and golden locks. Mary's attire consists of a white head-cloth wrapped elegantly around her head, complemented by a flowing white cape adorned with gilded edgings and a blue lining that adds an air of sophistication. Her dress is a vibrant red hue, decorated with intricate designs in gold, green, yellow, and a darker shade that may have originally been silver. The shoes are black, while the soil beneath her feet is painted a soft green. For the latest updates on this incredible piece of art, follow @GeoffreyMarchal on Twitter.
