Tomb figures made of red pottery with amber or brown glazes are predominantly found in the regions of Shaanxi and Henan. These artifacts continue a tradition of glazed burial wares produced in North China during the Han dynasty. The Han dynasty was the second imperial dynasty of China, succeeding the Qin dynasty and preceding the Three Kingdoms period. Spanning over four centuries, this era is considered a golden age in Chinese history. To this day, the majority ethnic group refers to itself as the "Han people," and the Chinese script is referred to as "Han characters." The Han dynasty was founded by Liu Bang, known posthumously as Emperor Gaozu of Han, who briefly interrupted by the Xin dynasty led by Wang Mang. This interregnum divides the Han dynasty into two periods: the Western Han or Former Han (206 BC – 9 AD) and the Eastern Han or Latter Han (25–220 AD). The emperor held significant authority during this time, with imperial authority challenged by large Daoist religious societies that instigated rebellions such as the Yellow Turban Rebellion.
