The immune system also plays a crucial role in defending against pathogens and foreign invaders. In addition, the human body has an incredible ability to heal itself from injuries and diseases. Through a process called regeneration, damaged tissues can repair themselves, and even entire organs can be regrown. This is made possible by the presence of stem cells, which are undifferentiated cells that can differentiate into different cell types to replace damaged or missing cells.
