Master of the Wet Cloths\nCa. 1170\nGranite\nPiece recovered in 2016 from a wall located in one of the towers of the Obradoiro facade, where it had been reused as fill material, corresponds stylistically with the Master of the Wet Cloths, an enigmatic figure, contemporary to the early times of the Master Mateo, with whom he must have coincided at the beginning of his project in the cathedral. He could have formed a pair with the image of the Virgin Mary that now tops the Platerías facade, perhaps as part of an Annunciation of which this figure would correspond with Saint Gabriel.
