That sculpture of three fighting cocks was purchased by Count Nikolai Sheremetev in 1787 for the Ostankino Palace, a former summer residence and private opera theater that had been built originally several kilometers north from Moscow but now forms part of the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug of Moscow. The Sheremetev family held many high-ranking military positions, governorships, and eventually the title of Count in the Russian Empire. This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory that creates a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from all over the world for public access at no cost. This effort is an open source community project where individuals can contribute interesting items around them.
