Extracting textures from a .skp file is simple with the right software. Sketchup users can export a 2D image of their choice, while C4D automatically generates a folder with the textures next to the .skp file upon importation. For 3ds Max users, textures are stored in the ..3dsMaxsceneassetsimages directory upon importing the .skp file. Rhinoceros 3D also makes it easy; simply import the .skp file and access the material editor to find the textures in the ..AppDataLocalTempembedded_files directory. To make things even easier, users can export an fbx file with embedded media from 3ds Max or Rhinoceros 3D, which generates a folder of textures alongside the fbx file.
