Fifth Element Multipass Convention Badge + Card Holder
thingiverse
This is a convention badge and card holder I designed, inspired by the iconic movie The Fifth Element. It's worn around the neck and features an internal cavity to store a wallet-sized card such as a credit card or hotel room key card. Two internal springs make retaining and ejecting the card easy. A completely assembled unit file is included for reference, but each part should be printed separately and carefully glued together to ensure that the card holder mechanism works properly. An ID template is also available for customization and printing. It can be edited in Inkscape or any vector image editor that supports .svg files. Unfortunately, Thingiverse doesn't allow .svg files, so a copy of the ID template is available at youmagine.com/designs/fifth-element-multipass-convention-badge-card-holder#documents. A YouTube video demonstrating the card holder feature is available below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWHuZMWwYi4 Print Settings: Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 30% Notes: Additional Items Needed for Finishing: -1/8 inch acrylic rod for rear clip -2 springs obtained from a ball-point pen -Superglue for assembly -Ball chain necklace for lanyard -Textured spray paint for body -Hobby paint and brush for buttons -Color printer and laminator for ID
