Fiero shift surround base frame
thingiverse
This is a new base frame for the padded part of the center console shift surround that's designed to withstand the test of time. After 30 years, these frames tend to become extremely brittle and can break apart at any moment. To repair or replace them, you'll need to carefully remove the vinyl from the existing frame and scrape out all the old foam. Then, apply a thin layer of upholstery foam using spray glue to hold it securely in place before reinstalling the vinyl. I found that using CA glue was the perfect solution for attaching the vinyl, and binder clips helped keep everything in place until the glue had set completely. Printing this part in ABS is highly recommended due to its ability to handle high temperatures, which is essential for a car interior exposed to direct sunlight.
