Fiero factory subwoofer adapter to Tang Band sub and grille

This is adapter plate allows the mounting of the Tang Band W5-1138SM subwoofer into the factory Fiero "Premium Sound" subwoofer enclosure, and provide an appropriately sized grille. There's a thread on Pennocks about the install @ http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/144224.html Due to the age of the factory enclosure and variations in manufacture, expect to do some filling around the edges (see photo.) I used butyl rubber, available in strips at the auto parts store, but silicone caulking should also work. You may also need to adjust the holes on the sides. Note that though the adapter is square, the holes on the "up-down" sides are differently spaced than the "left-right" sides. I've also added holes inside that set to draw in the enclosure for better sealing. These holes are sized for #6x1/2" sheet metal screws, for the original outer set of holes and #6x1/4" for the new inner set. The adapter has hexes on the back (top) side to attach the woofer itself. they're sized for #8 nuts and bolts. Using the grille would require a #8x2" bolt/nut set (8-24 or 8-32 doesn't matter. as long as they match of course :) Without the grille you can shorten the bolt accordingly. Finally, note this is based on the one woofer enclosure I had access to. To the best of my knowledge they were the same across all years. As YMMV, the OpenSCAD source is here to make any required changes. It includes both the adapter proper and the grille. There's also mockups of the woofer and enclosure, and hardware for fitment checks, all as separate layers.
